Secretary of State Michael Watson announced his run for lieutenant governor at a series of April 7 news conferences around the state, including one in Jackson. In the capital city, one of 11 stops on a multi-day tour promoting his campaign, Watson told a crowd of around 150 people that he was running to keep Mississippi at the forefront of conservative policy.
